ESPN and Fox own the SEC and Big Ten rights, respectively. The difference here is that Fox was interested in sublicensing part of this inventory, whereas ESPN is not. That has more to do with how many platforms the two networks have, and what other rights they have under contract, than it does with Fox being a team player. Warren basically was given an inch by Fox, and then tried to take a mile.
