It's a disservice to players to lie about them to NFL scouts because then NFL scouts stop trusting you and it trickles down to screwing over players who deserve praise. You don't want your head coach to have the reputation of blowing smoke to NFL execs. You want them to be credible so that if a player does need a boost, they'll trust the coach

IF Dabo has developed a reputation where he over inflates or over sells his players to NFL scouts, then the scouts already know that when evaluating Clemson's players.

I'm just saying pro scouts know what's what and Dabo's sales pitch may not matter one way or the other at the end of the day.

As it relates to work ethic and character issues, I can see where scouts would want the unvarnished truth about a player. From a strictly performance-based assessment, scouts can overlook Dabo's salesmanship because it won't sway a scout.
