I usually go down and stay for 5-7 days a couple of times a year. It’s so damn peaceful and has just enough food spots to keep things interesting. I’ve done the house rental, stayed at the old club multiple times, done the beach club, the Hampton, the Westin, etc and never had a bad trip.

It’s also a pretty easy drive over to St Simons across the sound for Southern Soul and more variety if ever wanted.

Come a long way since the 90s, too. I remember when the newest development was the gas station and Dairy Queen and what a revelation that felt like

Jekyll has totally transformed itself in the last few years. We enjoy the historic Millionaires Village. No other island or place has anything like that. Or Driftwood Beach. It’s almost unworldly. Lots of good places to eat too. We like staying at the Westin, the Jekyll Club Hotel and Villas by the Sea at Driftwood Beach. Villas’ condos are all privately owned and some are ok while others are beautiful. The complex recently underwent a total exterior renovation and we love staying there. We like having more room in a condo and being next to Driftwood Beach. The Westin is a favorite too. They even let us bring our dog. Even provided a bed and bowls for him. Not many elegant hotels allow that.
You are right about Soul Food BBQ on St Simons. Love it. The BBQ at the Love Shack in the Jekyll Market is almost as good if you’d rather not drive to St Simons.
