I don’t care about this and think it’s funny how Houston is crying. And I think Auburn is going to beat them. But…
You underlined this quote but left out the important part. Conference match ups are permitted starting in the Sweet 16. Duke and Virginia Tech played in the Sweet 16 in 2019. And that was a 1 and a 4 seed. There’s no reason to worry about 9 seed Auburn playing Tennessee in the Sweet 16 if you don’t care about a potential 1/4 match up.
It would have been no problem to put Auburn in the East and swap them with Florida Atlantic.
