Arkansas had many returning starters back on offense and did very well replacing some starters lost on defense through the portal. Arkansas began the season in the top 25 and were picked third in the West, the highest prediction since the Petrino years.

But last year turned sour after the fumble in the A&M game. That loss turned out to be just awful. Then they played scared against the most vulnerable Bama team since 2010. Got ran off the field at home. Didn't have a decent QB that could take over an injured Jefferson against a mediocre state team. Had the worst effort from a razorback team against Liberty not seen since the Chad years. Flipped flopped QBs against LSU and displayed some bad offense that resulted in wasted scoring opportunities. Didn't bother to show up and play hard against Missouri which is why Missouri has been owning Arkansas from the start. Then Arkansas almost lost that would have been an embarrassing game by letting Kansas almost win in OT. This Kansas program hasn't been to a bowl since 2008.

Arkansas lost four games by a combined 13 points. Sam Pittman just did a poor coaching job after taking the SEC by surprise in 2021. In response he had to clean house within his staff because it was a disappointing year and Arkansas just didn't meet those higher expectations not seen since Petrino.

I’m not sure you understand the significance of losing Catalon and Slusher
