So do things stay the same where Beck is likely the guy or does this kinda reset things to a level playing field for all 3?

I dont think anything is changing, that was the point of having Bobo work under Monken as an analyst learning UGAs current system.

That means nothing when thinking about Bobo’s relationship with Gunner and that Gunner likely has a higher ceiling. It’s definitely up for grabs.

I think it should be up for grabs.

"Ceiling" makes every QB and option. They each have elite traits.

The first question is protecting the football.
The second question is creating offense when the defense takes away the play design.
The third question is clutch moments.

No one knows the answers to those 3 questions.
Stet was good enough in the first question.
Good in 2021 and great in 2022 on the second question.
And great on the third question.

The biggest "talent" for Stetson was that he never stopped improving at UGA. He was continuously seeing things better and better.

Much like Brady, they kept growing inside the sport as it morphs into the next evolution.

Would Bobo have given the nod to Mettenberger over Murray in 2010 if Mettenberger hadn’t gotten kicked off the team?
Remember Murray played against the 1s in the spring game. I would like to think he would’ve stuck with Murray in the fall.

Why would he start the 2nd string QB in the fall?

I'm not following the logic of the question.

I mean we are talking 13 years ago but I’m fairly certain it was supposed to be an open competition going into the fall and a lot of people wanted mett bc of his stature and arm strength

This is what I keep hearing. I'm wondering if Bobo is favoring him more due to potential and what he wants to do over Beck. Seemed like Monk may of been ok with Beck over them.

Murray was always the better option. I was able to attend some practices that offseason adn it was clear. The ONLY reason people clamored so much over the whole deal and made it bigger than it was is bc mett balled out in the spring game and murray didn't. People diodn't really grasp taht that was simply 1 practice out of 15 in the spring.

Murray also seemed to have it between the ears, where Mett seemed to struggle some

Mett got zero reps against the #1 defense in the G Day game. Zero.

You have to earn those reps.

Success against the 2s/3s is like success against Samford. It doesn't mean the same thing as success against the first string defense (or Florida or Auburn).

Those clamoring for Mett were simps.
They either liked him because he was the Georgia kid or lifelong Georgia fan. Or they really couldnt differentiate throwing to Marlon Brown being covered by a 5'8" white corner back versus what Murray faced.

If Bobo has an affinity for Gunner or Grif over Beck it'd be foolish to think Beck is the man because he was Monken's #2. I'd say it's wide open.

If Bobo is enamored Stet then Gunner is going to look pretty sexy. He's a 5* Stetson. Plus the family ties. If I were Gunner I'd double down on the playbook.

Grif has the measurables...just don't know where he stands.

Beck is the only guy with legit PT and he looked the part.

Thinks we'll be fine with any of them.
