Yeah I'd never thought of it before but I could immediately think of a handful of all time greats from everywhere but South Carolina.
Bill Anderson may be the most famous in terms of record sales, mainly in the 60s.
I'd guess South Carolina certainly has a number of famous Soul/r&b/jazz artists though.

I’ve been listening to Lee Atwater’s R&B on YouTube recently. He’s actually really good.
