Plan on making it up there for the LSU/USCe series in April. Can anyone recommend a nice area to stay in. Been looking at downtown vrbo’s and places on campus. Not looking for a party area, just a nice safe area with restaurants etc. The wife and her mother probably won’t attend games. Wanna make sure they’re safe.
TIA

Hampton Inn in the Vista (Gervais Street). You're around lots of good restaurants and you're only about a mile from Founders Park. You'll also be able to tour the State House and our campus from that location.

Second the Hampton Inn in the Vista. Perfect location, exactly what you are looking for.

There is a new Aloft on Lady street and of course as the others said, the Hampton Inn on Gervais. Both hotels are nice and in the moddle of the Vista. You get a mixed crowd of an older and younger age group here. Good food such as the Blue Marlin and some other local joints. Also, if you go a few blocks up to Main Street, you can enjoy some good food there as well and a few hotels in the area.
