I don't disagree. Obviously you'd rather face backups than starters. My point though was that our entire defensive gameplan was night and day different from one game to another, which reflections 100% on our planning and not on the players on the other team.

I undesrtand but we could easily say similar things. Our best pass rusher was lost for the season in jacksonville, wouldn't it stand to reason he could've been a big help in the SECCG? We also lost an all american DB and our starting RG early in the season, who knows how much they could've helped. Pickens was clearly not fully healthy and only got a handful of snaps. Etc.

You were still struggling early on covering Williams and some of the other receivers. Williams going out was the catalyst. That game was heading to four full quarters at worst for Bama with Williams on the field.
