I never thought coach Pittman was going to leave.
I didn't see the leap from OL Coach to head coach.

I know Monk can go. But it feels like very specific circumstances to the NFL (he will never work for another offensive NFL HC again).

I've heard rumors that Monk was the guy for 2019. He just got that 2nd shot as OC with another NFL team and we settler for Coley.

I imagine Kirby has "favorites" in his mind. The challenge is the timing.
But what OC wouldn't want to work in Athens? It is the perfect job (outside of wanting to be a head coach or OC in the nfl).

At 56 Monken is a prime candidate for a head coaching job but he seems like the type who might be happier with a career as an OC.
He could probably make more money as an OC in the NFL but as you aptly point out, Athens is a pretty nice environment to settle into without the pressure of an NFL gig.
Monken seems to be working well with Kirby. Kirby was a DC so the offense is Monken's domain.
My guess is Monken will be happy to stay at Georgia as long as our admins continue to pay him what he's worth which is a lot.
