Why play this year at all?
We are headed towards a time in which players begin opting out as soon as their teams eliminate themselves from playoff contention. Yes.....during the regular season.

I think most will be limited to the best players on perennial mediocre teams like Texas though

The conundrum is how to construct recruiting classes to achieve more of a balance between skill and reliability. 3 stars are less likely to opt out because they haven’t been told they are first round locks for the past 5 years
