Did Tennessee win any big head-to-head recruiting battles this cycle?

I still have Tennessee recruiting PTSD from the 90s, back when they used to raid Georgia – the Jamal Lewis, Cosey Coleman and Leroy Grant class was really embarrassing for UGA.

I was afraid that this would finally be the year that Tennessee would start beating Georgia for an occasional recruit, but then it didn't happen. How about Alabama or Clemson? Until Tennessee can start going toe to toe with the Big 3 in recruiting, they will continue to just fart around and occasionally have a 9-3 or 10-2 season.

Beat Georgia and Bama for Hobbs
LSU for Jordan Matthew’s
Bama for Arion Carter

That’s just off the top of my head

To be fair that’s a big improvement for them

They signed the highest rated QB(#4 nationally on 247composite) taken by an SEC school this cycle. Every school in the country with an offensive pulse was chasing this kid before he shut it down. Including Alabama and Georgia.

D. Dobbs and A. Carter both stand out as very recent recruiting wins against Alabama.

They finished 9th in recruiting according to 24/7. What do you consider successful recruiting?
