Agree, but Arkansas law enforcement proves damn near every day that they think they are the law, rather than being entrusted to enforce the law, which requires them to actually know and understand the law.

Look at Act 746. Arkansas has been a constitutional carry state for almost a decade, but it took a homegrown gun rights group putting a bounty on law enforcement and defending people in court to get cops to quit arresting people for carrying a weapon, when it was their right to do so. Hell, we still have issues with some law enforcement on it.

Look at the First Amendment audit people, and the harassment they get in Arkansas over constitutionally protected activity. We do a piss poor job of requiring knowledge and understanding of the law, by law enforcement in this state.

I'm basing that statement off typical job requirements to become local law enforcement as well as their role in the judicial system.

Also it's not required for cops to know the actual law and interpret it properly. That's a different segment. This is why you see all those obnoxious audit people getting charges dropped and officers in trouble.
