The thing is, and this is coming from someone that hates Ole Miss, I don't really think Ole Miss is that kind of stepping stone, dead end program that everyone tries to paint them out to be.
They do have rich booster support. They do have money to pay coaches and compete in the NIL era as much as people want to pretend they don't. Mississippi has good talent. They also can reach in and pluck some from Louisiana and Alabama with the right recruiting strategy, also Memphis is right there so they can get into parts of Tennessee as well
I mean maybe I'm misreading it but I think with the right coach Ole Miss could actually build something substantial. LSU went 40 years until Saban came along and woke us up, I think the right coach could do the same thing at Ole Miss. I think Freeze was on his way until he got hit.
