Clemson's rise was happening regardless of what USCe did,, the train was already starting to roll. Even the last of the 5 straight it was easy to see Clemson was the better team (Spurrier even said as much), 5 or 6 turnovers was the difference.

We won each of those by double digits. Including when a back up QB came in and won @Clemson.

I’m not even saying Clemson would’ve stayed where they were or wouldn’t have been national title contenders. I am saying if we had stayed at that level that we were we would’ve beaten Clemson at least some of the games during their current 7 game win streak.

Depending on the season, that would’ve been enough to knock Clemson out of the playoff(s) which in turn would’ve have helped dampen Clemson’s run as an automatic playoff making machine that’s so alluring to recruits.

Instead, we imploded with Spurrier, Muschamp, and Tanner and removed a hurdle from Clemson’s path. Add that to FSU’s self destruction and the two teams on that regularly beat up on Clemson under Dabo were now out of the way.
