The playbook is unimaginative and tired, but here's how it works:

- Leftist wakes up in the morning longing for something to be outraged about
- Goes through the outrage list, selects target
- Gathers 10-20 of their cult to go protest and informs media of the injustice of the day
- Media gladly jumps on the case and projects the perception that 1/2 of the country is outraged
- Administration/CEO/etc. caves under the relentless PR pressure; makes incredibly unpopular decision but the majority either remains silent or is labeled a bigot/racist/etc.
- Rinse, repeat
