Since 2000 they are 6-4 against UGA and that includes 2 games against GA in 2003, playing in 2011, 2018 & 2019 but not playing in 2002, 2017, & 2021….or 2012 or 2020. When they did play outside of those years: 2004-Loss, 2005-Loss, 2008-Loss, 2009-Win, 2013 Loss.

Interesting that Uga always plays the elite lsu teams, but lsu usually avoids the elite uga teams.

Perhaps if those teams would have played LSU in those seasons, they would no longer be considered "elite".

Side note on the 2005 SECCG game, LSU played without a bye week due to two hurricanes that affected Louisiana within a month of each other, Katrina and Rita. Due to all the disruption and dislocation, players lost something like an average of 20 lbs. each. By the time of SECCG, players were pretty much exhausted by the ordeal. Moffit, the strength and conditioning coach told a friend of mine, the s&c coach at local college, the week before the game that the players had “no legs.” I was told about this comment on the Thursday before the game. And watching the game it was pretty obvious he was right. Whether LSU could or would have won that game had conditions been otherwise we will never know, but I don’t doubt it would have been much more competitive. The 2005 Tigers were a special group.
