This argument is not only completely dumb, but also completely false. There was no "trespassing law" broken no matter how many times you Bama fans try to parrot this line in order to deflect blame.
EVEN IF THERE WAS some sort of trespassing law with the case law to back it up (when it comes to fans rushing the field being prosecuted for trespassing), Burton had no right to dole out the punishment himself. Not only that, the punishment for trespassing isn't a physical smack on the head, AND that's also after the person has their day in court to decide guilt or innocence.
Do you realize how dumb this argument truly is? Probably not, considering you made it in the first place.

What do you think they arrest streakers for dumbass? It is trespassing to go onto a field without being approved to do so.
