Troy University to name OL room after former UK OL Coach John Schlarman

Know there's some Troy folks on here and lots of connections with other SEC programs too. Thought you guys might be interested. Most are familiar that Kentucky lost Coach Schlarman to cancer in November 2020.

We miss Coach Schlarman terribly in Lexington but great to see his legacy honored at his other coaching stops too.

John Schlarman left an indelible mark on the University of Kentucky football program, but his legacy extends far beyond the Commonwealth. Saturday afternoon Troy football will rename its offensive line meeting room in honor of the late coach.

After spending a few years in the Kentucky high school ranks, John Schlarman’s collegiate coaching career began at Troy in 2007 alongside Neal Brown. Schlarman spent six seasons at Troy before he joined Brown on Mark Stoops’ inaugural coaching staff at Kentucky.

The Neal and Brooke Brown foundation made a generous donation to the Troy football program to rename the offensive line room after the Great American.
