Not sure why Florida Gator fans feel like Petty was tied to the school in any way because he cut the grass there a few times…

Also… I happen to know his favorite city in the US was Houston. He said it a few times when I saw him in concert at the Summit.

A friend of mine saw him in St. Louis and he said St. Louis was one of his favorite cities to visit.

By my count Gainesville not even in top 2!!!

Urban legend in Cenla is that he attended ASH for a year and supposedly there’s a pic in the yearbook. Maybe Ellick can claim him too

Now that is a great way of looking at this as I saw him at The Gorge in Central Washington state a few years before he passed and he said that was his favorite place on the planet!
