Serious question. Would the powers that be, really pay that much to make him walk ? I am not a fan of guaranteed money for coaches. IMO, there should be some sort of merit stipulation in a coach's contract. O wins a natty then smokes LSU for a substantial buyout because of his ineptness. I know sports isn't real life, but c'mon.

Nope.
They wouldn't do it for Fran or Sumlin on smaller deals so they for damn sure aren't going to do it for the massive deal they gave Jimbo. The BMAs refusing to cut bait b/c of the guaranteed money was the biggest reason I was against giving him the moon in the first place.
We are going to be stuck in sunk cost fallacy hell for the next 2-3 seasons at minimum.
