If you're staying downtown be sure and always hang out west of Congress. Anything east of congress is full of homeless stinky people.

Stay away from 6th street...that place is trash.

2nd street west of congress is pretty clean. Also, south congress across the river has some decent food.

Someone already mentioned Fredericksburg. It's a neat little town founded by Nimitz I believe. The drive will take you thru hill/wine country.

It’s going to be hot as hell but it’s gets colder at night than you think, shorts maybe light jacket if you are cold natured

I forgot about this one Allen’s boots. Tons of cool boats, hats, belts etc, and the smell of leather, plus probably have the free ice cold beer Cooler up and running this weekend.

Parking is a bitch, but if you have to drive park behind it
