If there's a lake/pond, find out if the government knows about it. I can send you a link to find out later. If the government does know about it, you need to visit the dnr office in person to see if you are on the shite list and will be burdened with six figures in mandated improvements after you own it. You can try an email first to see if they'll just tell you, but they'll probably just pawn you off to the office visit.
