After Bryant HS, he got offers from UT-Martin and Eastern Illinois

So instead in 2019 he walked on at Michigan after Jim Harbaugh liked the kid and wanted to give him a shot. He was a scout team contributor at Michigan for 2019 and 2020, earning All Big Ten Academic honors both years.
