You keep saying this but I have a feeling you may have no business sense

B1G in the last century (especially after WW II and the GI Bill) had big state schools in high population states. They also had a monopoly on the auto business which greatly enhanced the wealth of MI + IN + OH in particular. It also meant migration North for higher paying Industrial jobs after WW II.

Now they make cars in KY, SC, TN, and AL and folks are now moving south for the weather and the jobs. SEC has product across sports and has had it since WWI but in the early days the media was on the East or West coast or around a mega city like Chicago (where 75% of the state lives in the major city, highly unusual) and the SEC got shortchanged not having those media hubs. B1G had crappy product (but the NCAA monopoly under the Beyers dictatorship) but had lots of bodies to tune into the local teams.

That has changed as folks are moving south and within a generation the population advantage of the B1G will be gone but the product will still be inferior. You say follow the $$$$ but you fail to see that money is moving south, not north.
