If we go 1-7, LSU’s permanent rival has got to be A&M. Texas won’t choose A&M over OU. Arkansas would choose LSU over mizzou but that leaves mizzou without one. Ole Miss gets State. Florida gets UGA.

LSU-A&M
Texas-OU
Arkansas-Missouri
Kentucky-Carolina
Georgia-Florida
Vandy-Tennessee
Ole Miss-State
Bama-Auburn

Assuming this is what they go with, this means we stick with 8 conference games? How often does this put teams like Bama and Florida in BR?

I keep seeing this , but think that TN v KY and SC v Vandy is more likely

I think the 14 school presidents favor exactly this list, and they will vote for it.

Reasons:

1. Set rivalries pre and post expansion.

2. Induce maximum SEC representation in 8 team playoff.

3. Increase likelihood of SEC success in such 8 team playoff system, by keeping conference schedule at 8 games

4. Leverage new Conference TV deal when 8 team playoff system is negotiated

Bottomline, school presidents are looking to maximize TV money as the ultimate goal. Remember, we still have to negotiate new TV deals for when OU and TX join, which also coincides with a possible playoff expansion at the same time.
