Arrowhead is on the east side of KC, and not in a great area. Independence, etc., is pretty rough. Most of the money/season ticket holders in KC live south and west, stretching from the Plaza into Johnson County, KS (Overland Park, etc.). Kansas is trying to crawl out from under the damage Brownback did by building up the Legends area west of downtown, where the NASCAR track is and Sporting KC has a stadium. Building a football stadium out there would update a 50-year old facility (Arrowhead opened in 1972), be in an area with multiple dining and entertainment options, and be more convenient for most fans. I would fully expect this to happen in the next 3-5 years.

Similar to the moves the Braves made in Atlanta.

I really hate to see the Chiefs move out of Arrowhead though. It's a landmark. And would the royals follow?

I went to the area where Sporting KC plays for the first time a couple of years ago. It is a nice area, but seems like it's in the middle of nowhere. But they do have a Bryant's!
