That’s all I was saying. Birmingham is a great city and beyond the food, as others have pointed out, the music scene is incredible, particularly for its size. My responses here have been mostly motivated by a perverse enjoyment of watching that Irons nitwit twist and deflect when he’s said something that’s clearly and demonstrably false.

Yeah I don’t know why your dueling partner doesn’t simply admit he was using a bit of hyperbole and move on.

Birmingham has some fantastic restaurants that don’t have to take a backseat to restaurants anywhere, both the ones that get attention and the hidden gems.

Saying it’s a Top 10 food destination in the US as of shortly after noon CDT on Thursday, March 24, 2022, is a stretch, IMO.

My .02 .. and again, the food scene is wonderful in Birmingham, and I live within easy driving distance of the place and have traveled there specifically to eat before and will again, and I’ll offer a hidden gem in the Mexican restaurant in the shopping center on the hill at Deerfoot Parkway and U.S. 11 right outside of Trussville … of cities in current SEC states I would put the food scenes of (in alphabetical order), Atlanta, Charleston, Nashville, New Orleans and Savannah over Birmingham. And stretching out I’d rank Asheville over Birmingham. So in that much of a hole just in the South, it’s hard to get to Top 10. Top 25 with a bullet? There’s a case.
