Trying to find a silver lining.
The fact Harsin stood his ground, he can go into any living room and tell parents he’ll teach their sons about accountability, how to become men, etc., and no one will doubt him. If nothing else he practices what he preaches (he just has to actually recruit)
A bunch of his players are behind him. Wonder if all this will make the team (excluding dead weight) stronger?
We might not get 4- and 5-stars but there are kids out there who’ll want to play for a school like Auburn. Let’s just hope Harsin and staff can develop players.

Yep. Everything reverts back to the mean and all the volatility eventually smoothes itself out. Everything runs in cycles.
I fully believe that Harsin is a good enough coach to at LEAST maintain the average of our coaches since Dye over time. I look at it like this: Gus was a better recruiter but Harsin is a tougher leader so I don’t think, like others do, that we will nosedive and will instead maintain our 9-3 / 8-4 average. It is what it is until the PTB & BOT hand the keys over and get out of the way.
We may end up being the Wisconsin of the SEC under him where we have only average recruiting classes but are a tough as nails blue collar, physical team that has a great season every 5 years or so, we will just have to see.

I agree. I think this can galvanize a team and bring some unity. Hopefully, create an "us against the world" mentality and provide a bedrock to build on. I know this looked terrible to the outside world but maybe it might have been a blessing in disguise. Perhaps it made what is left really "Harsin's" team instead of remnants of a prior regime.

I hope Harsin proves everyone wrong. We wanted a hard arse. Not a damn person said shite about Saban and his attrition and staff turnover. Not saying he's him, but we wanted someone like him. Sabans first year was abysmal by his standards.
