I think truly the Iron Bowl set this in motion, but it was the failure to go for the win when he had the chance. He’d given indications he wasn’t a good fit previously, but when you have your arch rival on the ropes with a chance to finish them and you play it safe you’re toast.

That he seems content to try and coach up guys that weren’t as good (on paper but let’s face it these recruiting analysts are pretty damn good) rather than work to get them would have had the torches and pitchforks out at Bama, Georgia or LSU in a hurry.

Your administration probably won’t take the advice, but cut your losses now.

For purely selfish reasons I hope you keep him.

No, the Miss State and South Carolina losses were worse. The issues really heated up in the offseason with losing coaches and players and failing to keep the moment he was building recruiting in the late fall when we got as high as 10 or 11.

The Iron Bowl didn't set this in motion. He actually had a little good will after that game for how he had the kids ready to play after they really could have given up after losing their QB and the way we lost the two weeks before.

It was the utter failure in recruiting combined with the mass player and coach exodus that set the alarm bells ringing. Remember Saban was 7-6 his first year at bama if I recall correctly but he was killing it off the field and the trajectory was pretty clear.

Harsin could have easily survived 6-7 without even batting an eye given that we were competitive in pretty much every game. The off the field stuff being such a disaster is the reason for all of this.
