Here in Louisville, Pearl has been mentioned as a potential candidate by pretty well all of the local UofL beat writers.
It’s pretty much been him, Kenny Payne, Kevin Willard, and Scotty Davenport.
And a quick Google search easily shows this is a national story at this point.

Auburn beat writers were mentioning Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops too last year. It really doesn't mean much.

This is true, and the question in the title is a legit question.
Louisville BB is a legit threat with the amount of revenue they generate annually is tops in the NCAA, and their facilities are there. Is Bruce the right fit when you consider his standing with the NCAA and the issues Louisville still have and looking at with the NCAA?
You can't say Mack's 6 game suspension played a role in his firing and then say hire Bruce who was also suspended this season. Just my reasoning. Lets see how accurate I am.
