But the structures in place to maintain some semblance of the positive shaping of young men and the fan's experience of a unified team with some elements of loyalty and good faith, of "team", have been perserved, even if there has been hypocrisy and dark caveats to the design, have worked on a fundamental level.

Now these kids will be given over to the worst angels of their nature. I never wanted them to be as bad as the "rich old guys" who perpetuate the money end of the sport. They don't handle it very well at that age.

We may be in the middle of unintended consequences but this is hardly the rest of the story. Gotta break some eggs to make an omelet. The NCAA has been MIA from the get-go of NILs. It's not a good look when you give the inmates the key to the asylum. If this happens to speed up the demise of the leaders in place through the chaos and a lack of confidence then these unintended consequences may well have a silver lining too.

And for all these knee-jerk reactions to the magic portal, here's a fun fact no one talks about. These kids can only transfer ONCE folks. One time and they have to sit out just like in the old days. These players still have to make their bullets count.
