Pretty sure they were asked to leave as the conference is trying to become known as a football conference and get away from the hybrid approach. I read something along those lines when they started to expand this season. The Sun belt message boards I checked out were already talking like they were gone.

off the subject, UCA needs to either start winning some FCS natties, or they need to move to 1A and start making some money playing P5's a couple times a year

Better fit.
The Sun Belt is all in on football, with some fairly impressive results to show for it. In the OVC UALR will be competing against programs on their level.
