Honestly, I don't think people would be losing their minds as much if this played out even like 2020s mathcup. In other words, we fought hard, looked good for a half, but simply gave out of steam against a better team. I think people could live with that.

What is just mind boggling to accept is that our coaches watched 12 games of film on our own defense, one fo the best historically in CFB hitsory, also watched 12 games of bama's offense and watched how 4 teams either did beat them or came a whisker away from it by all doing the same thing.....then come into the SECCG and do LITERALLY THE EXACT OPPOSITE.

-Man seems to work, both for us and in stopping them. LETS GO ZONE
-Bringing a ton of pressure and blitzes rattles them and makes them super ineffective. LETS RUSH 3
-Well we have a great DL, let's just raise hell with those guys without pressure. FRICK THAT, LET EM SIT BACK AND CONTAIN
-But bryce isn't really a runner and would prefer not to leav DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID? CONTAIN

Like you could throw darts at a wall of differnet things to do as a defense and would probably come up with a grab bag of a better game plan than what we did. Then lo and behold the second half we scapped that abortion and did what we should've done from the start and whaddayaknow? We slowed them down considerably. That's why I at least am so irritated, I don't even really GAF about the QB thing since I accpeted since October that that's what we're doing. But the defense is just inedescribable.

I don't think you'll find a single person to argue with that.
