...since we are thread hopping.
Zachs highest rated games were
01. Idaho 182.9
02. WU 176.0
03. MSU 161.8
04. Towson 160.0
05. UA 149.5
Source
AJ's rating against LSU is 109.7, 125.5, 115.4 respectively, in other words, about par.

"Why did LSU lose despite AJ playing his worst game of the year and Mett playing his best?"-Harmonics/SECr savant

Because A&M's defense held Mettenberger to a 77 rating, his lowest of the year?

I blame Metts performance against Bama on the mystique that is DEATH VALLEY at night. That place has some serious shamanistic shite going on!

That's kinda what I mean. Zach's rating for UF/A&M/SCar/AU were horrible ( I think the average rating was about a 92, which is terrible). I don't think I've seen anyone ask 'how did 3 of those teams lose, with Zach playing his worst'. It's just the game, a good D and a bad poor QB performance.

We (LSU) can thank Coach Dinardo for starting the revival on that.
Mett averaged a 92 or so against A&M/UF/SCar/AU yet we still won 3. QB play seems the least important. Gawd help the CFB world if Cameron can actually put out an O.

But stating a thing true, though it is false (Mett playing his best) or not really telling the story (AJ playing his worst game...which is true, but as shown above, simply par when playing LSU)
I think Mett did play his best, relative to how much better the Alabama defense was to the other defenses Mett had success against.
As far as AJ is concerned, the last Drive of the game boosted his rating/production. Up to that point, he was terrible. The only game where AJ was great from start to finish vs LSU was the BCSCG.

Yeah but AJ did the deal when it counted against LSU and UGA (and probably A&M if a run was called). Cameron's biggest task might be getting the whole corps heads right, regarding the O in general. Then proceed from there.
I edited out the last part of prior post...jimmies rustled and all that

Always a task, learning a new system. I am sure early on, the offense will be more watered down than it will be later.

Screw that. The rant is all about rustling jimmies. If you can't handle it or offer a legit response, then GTFO!

Meh, I RA'ed my OP. Instead of contributing to the dumpster fire I should try to improve it.

I think the talent gap is enough to get by TCU. Kent ST and UAB should be good tuneups, AU show a little more. UGA in Athens, I think we'll see what we got.

There is no doubt Cam knows offense. He had some great ones with the Chargers and was a boost to the Ravens. He did a great job with Flacco, even though some people want to credit Caldwell.

He did fine in NFL but maybe too conservative, But it's perfect for LSU. He likes to run, feature one back. The 'stable' might be gone and the FB secondary or even rare. He's worked with Brees, Flacco and Rivers so whatever Zach has to offer, he'll get. I more excited about another kid (Jennings) for 2014.

I don't think Les will let this happen and he shouldn't. All LSU needs and has needed, is a QB that can manage the offense and make plays when necessary. The talent surrounding Mettenberger is there. It just needs to be utilized accordingly, with the OC/QB.

We MUST be allowed to play ALL night games. Stop crapping on our traditions.
