I was at Auburn at the same time as Tim Cook. AU is and has always been a conservative place. In those years though, it seemed very buttoned up.
We'd have religious crazies like "Sister Cindy" who would show up randomly on the concourse at Haley Center preaching Hell Fire and Brimstone. She'd draw a crowd and invariably the Pikes or some other frat jackassses would start taunting her. Woman was like Phyllis from Mulga with a bible. Very high comedy.
So, if you were gay at Auburn in 1980-84 time period, you definitely didnt see them.
