So the portal window closes on the 28th of December.
The Quarterfinals are 31st Dec, Jan 1st. Then two more games culminating with the championship on the 20th.
Auburn Spring classes start the 13th of January.
So if we were after someone, they would have to announce they are in the portal.......then continue to play for their team......and make it late to spring (if they played in the championship).....
If they do enter the portal, can you talk to them while they are still playing for their current team?
What a cluster, tough on the kids, the teams they are with, the ones that want them, the coaches trying to win a championship with no time to try and guard the chicken coop.
All so we can have championship games, playoffs. Soon we will have spring ball and 48 teams in the playoffs, anything to make more money, no matter that you cripple half the kids with innumerable games.

Chances are that the marquee players on playoff teams are mostly going to stay put because they want to continue to be on successful teams, or have made arrangements with the current team for next season if they didn’t have a good NIL and have had a breakout season. It’s part of the “keep recruiting your own players throughout the season” responsibilities for multi million dollar coaches.

Im looking at it from the player's perspective. You have some really good players who are in a rotation at a certain position, and they are worth more to a team who does not have one. So what, he has to announce while his team is in the playoffs? How awkward and uncomfortable for everyone.
And now the playoffs run into the spring semester if the kid does want to transfer?
Keeping the season the same length, the conference championships and the playoffs is a bit much. And its all about the money.
This nonsense of sec championships and weeks later they play again, frick TX may play Georgia three times this season?
