What's the hammer?

Au takes a 1-0 lead with 3 straight hits in the top of the 7th inning. Bottom 7 now and AU going for the win.

the hammer, in baseball and softball, is the home team......last at bat = the hammer.

Then no we don't have the hammer. We had the hammer when we played them yesterday so the second game between 2 teams in regional play is always flipped.

1 out.

Alright we've got to take two games from #16 Minnesota in order to keep our season alive for another week. The winner of this regional will be going to Eugene to face #1 Oregon in the Super Regional series.

First pitch is slated for 1:30 PM CST.

Game 1 1st inning summary.

Lexis Davis was strong on the mound w/ 2 Ks and a pop ou.

AU got 2 on but could not get a run and got a bad break call art a force at 2nd base on a dropped ball by the Gopher fielder.

0-0 Top 2.

Scoreless through 2 innings. AU D got a big double play to get out of trouble. AU went down in order in the bottom of the 2nd.

Big 2 out RBI double by Branndi Melero brings home Kasey Cooper. Morgan Estell follows Brandi's double with a 2 out double of her own. AU leads game 1 2-0. Still bottom 3rd.
