I'll have you know the words were NOT being displayed and now they ARE. All due to MY efforts.

Pat Dye worked his players to death, but he loved every one of them as if he was their father. He was completely interjected in their lives. Harsin seems to be missing the key differentiator between being an a-hole, and being a strong leader. The fact that some of you boil Pat Dye down into "he yelled at guys and made them work 24/7" proves that you understand nothing about leadership.

I have always heard that “little running back” story about Coach Dye too, so I always assumed it was true.

Because the way I always heard the story is that Coach Dye did not cut that “little running back” and initially allowed him to stay on the team to show what he could do. Then that “little running back” proceeded to prove to Coach Dye that the “little” part was the most unimportant of his facets and that he was a not just a “little running back” but also a “VERY TALENTED” running back.

Coach Dye recognized and admitted he was 100% wrong in his initial impression of that “little running back” who went on to become a starter and an Auburn and NFL legend.

That “little running back” was Lionel James. And what Coach Dye did in recognizing and fixing his initial error when it came to Little Train is a part of “leadership”.

But players like Smoke Monday who had nothing to gain said the same thing. Mason who had a good roster didn't like what he seen from him either. OSU is a downgrade and he took it to get away. People are trying too hard to convince themselves an average coach is great and it's everyone but his fault for all the disfunction of the team. The simple fact he has the team split on if he's bad or good shows he's the problem.
