John Cohen Needs to Go

Basketball- Shite
Baseball-Shite
The big 3 sports are failing. He made some boneheaded decisions around football and basketball. We are gonna have to make a move for a baseball and basketball coach in the next year or two. I don’t trust him to hire anyone worth a damn. He totally screwed up the basketball by not putting an interim tag on SP. We are a GOLF school now.

baseball is fine it just needs to give Auburn fans little more to cheer about to atone for a miserable sports year.

i dont know how much input he had on Golesh, but i strongly believe that was the absolute best hire for the program

I think butch is fine. I also think golesh is going to wind up being good but cohen almost fell arse backward into that hire. I think it’s time for a change in the ad office

Cohen is like everything with Auburn sports - aim low and cheap and hope for the best.
It worked with Pearl and that's about it. I don't think State was sad to see Cohen go and so far, I can see why.

its always been my contention that the GOBs wanted Freezus from back when Gustav got the axe - they pushed for Steele to buy time to sell the rest of the fanbase on the idea, but AG went rogue with Meathead Harsin
after that debacle Cohen was still figuring out the best way to drive from his house to the office so he probably said “whatever yall want” to hiring Freezus
but you’re right, Cohen’s departure from StarkVegas wasnt exactly mourned, despite his very successful tenure on the diamond - he wasn’t terribly highly thought of as an AD
still giving him credit for Golesh, he is the antithesis of the kind of guy AU would turn over the football program to, which is why i like him so much - but i do wonder if Cohen hired him out of desperation
