Plenty of school play up and down in class levels. Not a lot at the 7A level but it does happen. 3-6 cross play a lot. 1-4 cross play a lot. And yes even in some instances a 1A will play a 6A or even a 7A. Every team in baseball is looking to fill a schedule out that isn’t just within class. Same with basketball.
Football is a little different but it does happen. Most of the 7A schools are going out of state for equal competition instead of playing down. But a lot of 6-1 can’t afford to make a trip out of state so they play up and down just not as much as other sports

Moving the goal posts was trying to infer that I was referring to ACA as being 6a, which was never mentioned.
