Thorne processes things slowly and just does not see the field.
This was beyond evident from the stands. Scrambled too soon. Looked lost. Missed open guys. Just a head case by the 4th quarter.

There are 8 SEC teams in the top 16 of the AP poll. We are in the lower half of the conference, probably the bottom quarter. This is unacceptable even with the shite we were left after Harsin. Can’t beat Cal NMSU it is fricking terrible. We are in a new age of college football and we are falling way behind. Hugh Harsin is a great recruiter but is an average coach at best - Gus 2.0. He would make a better GM or Recruiting coordinator in today’s game than a HC.

It’s not like Freeze chose Thorne this year to be his QB over other viable options. Thorne was the only QB we could get. We probably could get him because no better program wanted him.
I disagree here. Auburn has a financial war chest many Power 5 programs would kill to have. You’re telling me if Freeze called some power guys to say, “we’ve got four superstar receivers coming in but need another million to get a QB,” they wouldn’t have ponied up? With excitement at an all time high with the program and recruiting right now?
Freeze elected to go with Thorne because he assumed Thorne would blossom with more talent around him. It was a bad gamble.
