KN did a recruiting live chat last night. Here's some top highlights
- As of today, KN thinks at worse AU goes 5-1 for those prospects listed in his next to commit article. That 1 being Wanya Morris who he still thinks AU has a great shot at landing
- Was asked of AU's chances with top CBs Kaiir Elam, Andrew Booth & Christian Williams. Said as of now doesn't see any of those 3 picking AU but of them Williams is probably best shot
- KN says talked with someone last night that seemed pretty sure Wanya Morris would pick AU. Admits he really doesn't know which way Morris will go
- Someone asked if coaching stability at AU now helps recruiting. KN said that it's hard to quantify how much but yes it helps. Fact that HC isn't on hot seat every day is big
- As of now, AU wants only 2 WRs in this class
- Asked about where Derrian Brown is in the pecking order compared to Noah Cain & John Emery. Says AU really likes Brown but probably like Emery & Cain a little bit more. But Brown is not close to deciding so doesn't really matter currently
- Was asked about who from MS thinks AU has best shot of landing says 4* Buck Derick Hall & 3* ATH Raydarious Jones (Nakobe Dean's teammate). Later says AU believes they will get 3-4 out of MS
- Believes AU will go 0-3 on top ranked instate OL
- Cain's father told KN they will visit in the next few weeks
- It's early but predicts AU finishes with a top 8 class
- Someone asked him how confident he is in Pappoe prediction. Says there are still 3 weeks to go so plenty can change but as of now he likes his pick for AU. T-WILL, playing time & just being comfortable at AU have been significant
- Confirms that Pickens is talking to a lot of schools right now but in the end both KN & AU believe he sticks with the Tigers

Some interesting tidbits in here on 4* DL Jaren Handy from Bama SECCountry
LINK
KN seems to think this will be an AU/BAMA/OM battle

But it’s Alabama that seems to have an edge over every school right now. Auburn was his leader heading into his visit to Tuscaloosa but he now claims no favorites.
Handy realizes that he is one of those recruits who gets very excited coming off of visits. So it’s possible he doesn’t name a leader until he makes his decision, which could happen in December.
“I don’t want to change my leader every time I visit a different school, so I don’t want to name a leader,” Handy said. “Everyone is equal. This is my first time experiencing all of this, so everything is going to look pretty good.”
quote:
Handy said Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and likely Florida will receive official visits from him this fall. LSU, the school he was committed to for just a few weeks last month, doesn’t seem to be in the mix for him.
Handy doesn’t regret committing to the Tigers. He said he learned that he shouldn’t rush his recruitment. The main reason why he committed to LSU was because one of his close friends, Zach Edwards, pledged to the Tigers.
Auburn definitely made a good impression on Handy when he visited the school last month, but his visit to Tuscaloosa did make him back off naming the Tigers as his leader.
“Alabama is my dream school and I know I can go there and play early,” Handy said. “Just getting to know the people and the coaches at Alabama made me change my mind.

LSU homer, I mean SECCountry writer, Sam Spiegelman put a CB in for AU on Owen Pappoe. Pappoe took OV to LSU this last weekend
Speaking of OVs, Wanya Morris is taking an OV to Tennessee next weekend. Not sure if he is gonna take one to AU before deciding but KN says his last midweek visit to AU was as close to an OV as an unofficial can be

I see your point, but it is still a strikeout when at a position of need your home state has 3 top ~100 players including two 5*s and you go 0/3
Just because we may end up doing okay snagging OOS kids doesn't diminish the missed opportunity

To be fair Clay Webb and Quick were pretty close to Bama locks from the beginning

Was going to be hard to pull any of them but was hoping could steal one away. Fact Kight hasn't yet pulled the trigger & is still visiting AU gives me a little hope at least. One of those situations where you almost cheer for Bama to sign a bigger name out of state

SEC Spotlight: How 2019 recruiting is shaping up for each team (Rivals)
Gonna post blurb for all teams just cuz it does give a general idea of what's going on in SEC recruiting that others might find interesting

We are two months into the class of 2019 recruiting cycle and with official visits already starting, it’s time to take a look at how things are shaking out in the recruiting rankings. In this week’s SEC spotlight, we take a look at where each team currently stands as well as which uncommitted players are at the top of their list.

1. OLE MISS
Total commits: 15
Highest-ranked commitment: Diwun Black
Top uncommitted target: Nakobe Dean
What a weekend it was for Ole Miss. The Rebels added three commits, including Black, the top commit on their list. Then they added another on Monday, giving them four in a three-day span. Ole Miss is the only SEC team to have double-digit commits at this time. Matt Luke and his staff are still working hard to keep the best at home, then dipping into Alabama, Texas and surrounding states to pull some top talent this cycle.
Might have some more battles with them this cycle over some of those MS kids, most notably Jaren Handy, Nathan Pickering & Derick Hall

2. GEORGIA
Total commits: 7
Highest-ranked commitment: Jadon Haselwood
Top uncommitted target: Zacch Pickens
Georgia lost longtime commit Luke Griffin over the weekend, but that was expected. The Bulldogs only have seven commits, but six are four-stars and one is a five-star. Kirby Smart signed the top class in the country in 2018 and it will likely challenge for that spot again in 2019. The final number will not be 26, but he is aiming for a very strong group of 22-23 in this class.

3. ALABAMA
Total commits: 6
Highest-ranked commitment: Pierce Quick
Top uncommitted target: Clay Webb
Alabama is taking a little different approach this cycle and is being aggressive. The Tide are pushing prospects to commit instead of taking the slower approach like in years past. They added two commits on April 5 and could be close to adding a few more in the coming weeks. They are really targeting Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi hard this cycle.
Interesting note on Bama not being as patient this cycle. They were extra picky last cycle & it seemed to have bit them on some guys especially at DT

4. TEXAS A&M
Total commits: 8
Highest-ranked commit: Brian Williams
Top uncommitted target: Theo Wease
Texas A&M is off to a pretty good start under Jimbo Fisher on the recruiting trail, currently sitting inside the top 10 nationally despite being ranked fourth in the SEC. Landing Williams was a big haul and the Aggies have their sights set on five-star receiver Wease, as well as fellow five-star Texas native Arjei Henderson. Depending on how things fall going forward, the Aggies could be looking at a pretty impressive class.
They are in some wild battles with OK this cycle

5. LSU
Total commits: 8
Highest-ranked commitment: Kardell Thomas
Top uncommitted target: Derek Stingley Jr.
LSU will have an elite class if it can just keep the elite guys at home. It starts with five-stars Stingley and Ishmael Sopsher. Both are very close to the LSU campus and both are elite talents who have LSU at the top or very high on their lists. The Tigers currently have commitments from two of the top 10 in-state prospects, so if they can clean up in their home-state, they will have a top class in the end.
Bama is about to raid LA hard. I think Tide land Sopsher, Christian Harris & Devonta Lee. Might also steal Derek Stingley
We are trying to steal John Emery, Donte Starks & Devon Bush

6. SOUTH CAROLINA
Total commits: 9
Highest-ranked commit: Mark Fox
Top uncommitted target: Zacch Pickens
South Carolina has taken a more national recruiting approach so far with the class of 2019 and it’s already paying dividends. Quarterback commit Tyler Hilinski, a California native, recently made his pledge to the Gamecocks and has a chance to be the first California prospect to sign with the school in the Rivals.com era. He joins players from four other states among the nine commitments in the class. Despite the school’s expanded recruiting footprint, Pickens, a five-star defensive lineman from Anderson, S.C., remains a major priority going forward.
SCAR is trying to make a push in GA this cycle for sure. Curtis Fann, Kalen Deloach, Warren McClendon are some of the big names they have a solid shot at landing

7. FLORIDA
Total commits: 7
Highest-ranked commit: Jammal Abrams
Top uncommitted target: Trey Sanders
Florida has taken a new recruiting approach under Dan Mullen and continues to feel its way out when it comes to the 2019 class. Currently all seven of the Gators' commits are three-stars, including recent quarterback pledge Jalon Jones, who originally committed to Mullen while he was at Mississippi State. The school has plenty highly-ranked targets it’s currently pursuing, including five-star running back Sanders. The IMG Academy star is a Florida native and has already been to Gainesville.
Mullen recruiting at UF like he is still at MSST

8. TENNESSEE
Total commits: 5
Highest-ranked commit: Jackson Lampley
Top uncommitted target: Quavarius Crouch
Once again the Vols are swinging for the fences with some of the nation’s top prospects and several have already been on campus in Knoxville during 2018. The class got off to a solid start with the addition in in-state prospect Lampley and the most recent additions were out-of-state prospects Jackson Lowe, a three-star tight end from Georgia, and LeDarrius Cox, a three-star defensive lineman from Alabama. If Tennessee can reel in Crouch or fellow five-star prospect Darnell Wright, it will surely rocket up this list in the future.
Unsurprisingly Pruitt is recruiting AL really hard
