Been weird because Kipp doesn't seem to think it's gonna happen but ya Rusty keeps playing these games. He was dead set on Owen being at UGA leading up to like a week before so obviously someone he speaks too thinks it will happen

Rusty tweeted last night that 4* ATH Zion Puckett is down to a final 5 of AU, BAMA, OHST, TEN and SCAR with a decision coming soon

KN has followed up article this morning. 4* ATH Zion Puckett told 247 late last night he will be committing in a few weeks & has a top 5 of AU/BAMA/OHST/TEN/SCAR. KN's sources still believe AU is the team to beat and is one AU's top DB targets. However, he's visiting Tennessee this weekend. He has an OV to AU set for 10/12. KN says he's confirmed that OHST is very high on him as well
Would be absolutely huge to go into season with Puckett & Booth already on board. Might be done with DB recruiting by kickoff

KN also has article on 4* RB Noah Cain. Cain told 247 that he really trusts Tim Horton & loves his honesty. Cain hasn't named public leaders but it's believed AU is in his top group with LSU & TEX. Cain admits that last year he would never have believed AU would be one of his top schools but his first visit surpassed expectations and called AU "real, not flashy". Says AU is recruiting him really hard right now. When his mom visited AU her goal was to figure out if she thought AU was honest. Said his dad is easy to convince, just show him nice facilities & food (

I keep seeing that these 2 are constantly recruiting players to AU, yet people are worried about losing Pickens?

AU fans are understandably nervous when it comes to elite instate talent that's being pursued by Bama
Until he signs it's hard to feel comfortable. However, fact multiple prospects have said he's recruiting them hard to AU is a great sign

Random food for thought, I am thinking we are gonna see some DB attrition after this season if AU does in fact sign a 6 man DB class (I am including Handy-Holly). That big of a class following a 5 man DB class from last year makes me think staff isn't high on guys like Jayvaughn Myers, Malcolm Askew and Traivon Leonard. Especially when someone like Noah Igbinoghene seems to easily take a starting job despite no background as a DB

Alabama, Auburn (will visit there Saturday) and Michigan are three other programs high on Deloach’s list at this time, but as he gets ready to start his senior year, Florida State is the school trending. The good news is he's still planning on coming to AU. When I first read this I thought it was saying he was going to FSU over AU but he's just gonna head to Tallahassee after AU's event

This is a battle between the Tigers, and although Wooden has not dropped any hints on if he is leaning towards Auburn or Clemson, there has been some chatter behind the scenes that the favorite is Auburn at this time. Clemson is still very much in this as well, but Dabo Swinney appears to be chasing Gus Malzahn for this one. Wooden has stayed fairly quiet about this, but he plans reveal his choice August 16.

Ya I just don't see 3 LBs right now. Seems like majority of our top remaining targets are trending elsewhere but AU isn't really (or at least nothing publicly) looking into backup options. Tells me either we feel better about somebody than is being reported or we aren't gonna reach at LB & use a spot elsewhere

According to CLEM 247 Colby Wooden has not confirmed whether he will visit AU or CLEM this weekend (or both)
Also says that UGA is trying to get Booth on campus for their big weekend event
