Interesting that Harold Joiner wasn't even ranked during junior day last year.
Ya as mad as I am about Nix's ranking it's still way too early to get upset or worried about where people are ranked. Gatewood jumped all over the place only to end up a top 100 player. Joiner went from unranked to 3* to briefly a top 100 player to top 200. Guys with multiple offers from top programs at this point in time are probably gonna end up highly ranked prospects

Former AU targets William Barnes & Ed Montilus cancelled trips to UF as well this weekend. Looks like Tar Heels gonna pull off the package deal. Barnes is a beast

good one, like we are going to recruit that state. Could you do Colorado now please? We might actually sign a kid from that state

Top tackle target prepares for decision between Auburn, South Carolina (SECCountry)
quote:
Top tackle target set to make decision
One offensive line piece will drop this weekend.
Dylan Wonnum never wanted his decision to last until Signing Day. As it turns out, it won’t. The 4-star offensive tackle from Tucker, Ga., wanted his decision to be finalized before his senior season began. However, Wonnum’s process has dragged on much longer than previously expected.
It will now end soon.
Wonnum will announce his decision Saturday on social media. Keith Niebuhr of 247Sports was the first to report the scheduled commitment.
The Crystal Ball will have you believe South Carolina already has his commitment. Wonnum’s older brother plays for the Gamecocks. At one point, Wonnum called the Tigers his leader. He has since backed off that comment, but it’s the only time in Wonnum’s recruitment he’s publicly said one team leads over others. That alone should be enough to make Auburn feel like a contender coming into this weekend.
Wonnum has been a tough recruitment to track. He keeps everything quiet. Many of the people around him are as in the dark about his upcoming decision as reporters may be. The preconceived notion is Wonnum will choose South Carolina this weekend. That’s the direction I went with my Crystal Ball pick after he took his official visit to Columbia, S.C., last weekend. I did that with a little bit of reluctance, however, because I know the relationships he has with Auburn coaches and signees such as Michael Harris and Jalil Irvin.
Auburn has continued its push.
Coach Gus Malzahn, offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes went to Tucker, Ga., for an in-home visit earlier this week. The Tigers don’t feel out of it.
The one factor that probably puts the Tigers behind: They brought Wonnum on an official visit the first recruiting weekend of January. That came before Herb Hand’s departure for Texas. Had Wonnum waited a week, I would’ve liked Auburn’s chances much more given his then-ability to do the official visit with Grimes in place.
It didn’t happen that way, which is what gives South Carolina the edge.

National perspective on Auburn grad transfer target
Calvin Anderson’s recruitment has reached the national spotlight.
The tackle, a Rice grad transfer, was featured in a Bruce Feldman article on SI.com. The contents of Feldman’s article were similar to the in-depth conversation SEC Country had with Anderson last week. Anderson is likely to take his final official visit to Auburn next weekend on Feb. 9-11.
The one big difference in Feldman’s piece: Anderson tiered his schools of choice.
Texas and Michigan were Tier 1. Auburn was Tier 2. Oklahoma and TCU were Tier 3.
That shouldn’t be a cause for concern yet. Texas and Michigan are the only two programs to receive an official visit so far. Auburn is expected to receive the last one. Basically, it’ll be tough for Oklahoma and TCU to move from Tier 3. Meanwhile, Texas and Michigan will have to sit and wait to see if Auburn can move up to Tier 1.
Lindsey and Grimes are putting in hard work to get Anderson on board.
That official visit will be everything.

Vandy mod just CB'd Langham to Bama. Gonna have to be an epic OV this weekend

Sounds like Chase isn't flying out until late tonight because LSU is planning on sending most of the coaching staff to visit him in home tonight. Hopefully he ends up actually making the trip to AU

From where? Every Bama site I have seen is reporting him as a take & a top priority. A few have insinuated he is a silent commit

To follow up on this, KN says Chase isn't expected in AU until early Saturday morning. Langham & Gouraige will arrive this afternoon

I'm still trying to figure out how we missed on Langham.. don't we have enough recruiting geographical problems to be missing out on an AU fan?

Well that's dumb.

Why? Fox is/was never an explosive DE. To me, he's a heavy-footed SDE, but more than likely a DT. I don't think he'd have been a major contributor at Auburn.

Because he's way too small. If so he's a perfect fit for us because we don't seem to go much for the explosive DEs.

LOL. He's 250 pounds. You really don't think Auburn can tack 40-50 pounds on a kid in 2 years?
Yeah, AU sucks at getting good DEs. Antonio Coleman, Corey Lemonier, Dee Ford, Carl Lawson, Jeff Holland. Just pure suck.
