247 also had article on 3* RB commit Shaun Shivers. Shivers is aware people doubt his ability to be every down back because of his size but uses that as motivation. Staff has told him they will use him in a lots of ways including as a RB, slot WR and jet sweep guy. Sounds like he is very close with Tim Horton. Shivers is already recruiting hard for us and is trying to get back on campus as much as possible to help recruit, he's focusing primarily on Florida guys

Auburn, Florida chasing Rivals250 Tennessee DT D'Andre Litaker (Rivals)
quote:
On Auburn: “I went to Auburn over the summer and have been keeping in touch with the coaches ever since. I really liked camping there and working out with Coach Garner. He’s actually a really good coach. He was yelling at us a lot and he’s really intense, which I respect and I like. He was just really a good coach to be around … Every time I go to Auburn I’m impressed. The stadium there is one of the biggest I’ve seen and they’ve got a ton of guys that they’ve sent to the NFL and that’s something that’s impressive.”

4-star OT visits Auburn (Rivals)
quote:
Jenkins also worked in a meeting with Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand.
“He's cool,” Jenkins said of Hand. “He's a cool offensive line coach. It's the way he talks with you and the way he acts with you. He told me to keep grinding and don't let everything get to my head.”
Jenkins, who is ranked the No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2018 class, has an offer from Auburn. He also has more than 20 other offers, including ones from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson, LSU, Michigan and Oklahoma.
Jenkins already is one of the state’s most heavily-recruited juniors, and that’s unlikely to change throughout the spring and summer. He does hope to help slow the process by narrowing his list.
“I don't know when it will happen,” Jenkins said. “But it will be soon.”
Rivals ranks Jenkins, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 325 pounds, the No. 111 overall player in 2018 and No. 4 in Alabama.

I updated the OP to include links to the recruiting calendar along with explanations on what each period means. Also included good article on all the different color shirts you can use so hopefully that's helpful. Gonna try and keep the current status updated so easy to see what can be done on the recruiting trail. Right now in quiet period so recruits can only meet with coaches on campus but can still communicate via letter or over the phone

Thanks for the updates TigerPaw. Good stuff.

Well they still use faxes so don't count out the influence good penmanship has on a recruit

I like Shivers. Like everyone else, you have to wonder, but the kid looks good, and is motivated. Built like a brick shithouse!

I would appreciate if you would get a little more thorough and add some video interviews with 21 and the recruits.

Just imagining what that would look like is glorious.
Music, drinks, and torn paper messages. Recruits with that nervous look on their faces.

21 just leering at them as they answer poster submitted questions.

5 way-too-early commit predictions for Auburn’s 2018 recruiting class (SECCountry)
4* OG Tank Jenkins
3* ATH Cam Taylor
3* DE Andres Fox
4* WR Jacob Copeland
3* RB Tae Provens
quote:
It’s comical at this point. You know, the way-too-early Top 25 or the way-too-early Super Bowl predictions. Instant gratification. It’s the world we live in.
Well, the 2017 recruiting cycle just came to a close. College football recruiting is an insane business that is nearly impossible to predict to perfection. Markaviest Bryant was deciding a week ago, and virtually nobody knew where he’d end up. So to make these predictions nearly 51 weeks before the next National Signing Day (if it still exists) is flat-out ludicrous.
Let’s be ludicrous.
The Tigers already have three commitments in the 2017 class — Joey Gatewood, Shaun Shivers and Daquan Newkirk. This post isn’t about predicting the probability of that trio sticking around. It’s an educated guess at five remaining targets who I expect will end up with Auburn.
