So if we have 8 spots left and are about to have to decide on guys how do you think we go?
WR- 1-2 Schwartz and or Ross
TE- 1
OT- 1
OG- 1 Hill
DL- 2 Fox then Oladele then Tannor?
LB- 1 Walker then McClain?
CB- 1

That is 8-9 guys. Let's say we get Schwartz and Ross, where do we cut a position?

I will be honest, not really sure how this shakes out. KN confirmed today that we take Ross no matter what which is interesting seeing how we are trending with Schwartz. Could have 5 WRs in this class

Also not clear if we are for sure taking a TE or if it's a nice to have. AU is pushing hard for Ford but also seem to be evaluating some other guys. Might be a situation where if we can get a guy we really like at TE, we take it

So my guess is right now we for sure take 1 more WR, 2 more OL (one being an OT), 2 more DL, 1 more LB & 1 more CB

That's 7 spots leaving the 8th open for best available. Just my guess

I thought he was a 19 guy.

2018. My bet is he is a blueshirt meaning his scholarship doesn't count until he shows up next fall

I'm gonna be so sad when Marlon Davidson leaves next year. Dude is one of the best DL to ever play at AU

I love Marlon Davidson. Nick Coe looks like a perfect replacement for him though. Same when Moultry eventually takes over Buck for Holland, TD looked damn good last night,

But what I'm worried about is while we have several good DTs, I just don't see anybody that can step in and be that elite athlete that Derrick is, and that Monty Adams was before him, that can eat up multiple blockers, stuff the run, or rush the passer when asked. I don't see is getting one thus cycle so maybe we can get one next cycle who can take over immediately as a tFR in 2019 immediately after Brown is off to the NFL.

Agreed. Would love to sign an elite DT in next year's class. No idea who that might be right now.

Bo Nix, elite DT and OT are top of my wishlist in 2019 class

Total scholarships isn't the issue, it's the 25 per year.

And walk on scholarships are for one year and in almost all cases given to seniors.

KN says Zakoby McClain is back in the take column for a limited time. AU would like 2 more backers is possible but sounds like McClains spot is only open for limited time. KN thinks he jumps on board soon

Really hoping he takes the opportunity this time. He's had an odd recruitment but dude is a boss on the field. Undersized but stupid fast and plays nasty

Also AU feels like they have a real shot at Channing Tindall now. UGA might still lead but AU feels they have reentered the race

Man that would be awesome to snag Tindall. That guy is a player.

My dream LB class has always been Harris, McClain & Tindall. Just think they fit our system so well. I still think Tindall is UGA's to lose but I think we are back in the race

Just really need to get one of Walker & Tindall

Asa Martin's senior highlight tape

Wasn't sure if he could run between the tackles based off his junior tape but I no longer am worried about that. I think he's a great fit for our system. Him and Devan Barrett are gonna be a lot of fun to watch in the future

WOW!

I haven't been sold on Asa until this year and my goodness this is why. Reminds me of Ladanian Tomlinson when he was at TCU. Wow.

I personally liked both Master Teague & Dameon Pierce over Asa earlier this summer. But after seeing his senior stuff I am nowhere near as worried about his future as the bellcow. Very good in between the tackles & is outstanding in the passing game which Lindsey likes

I still think Teague is probably the better option but hard to not get excited about Martin's potential. Him & Barrett both are smooth runners who can do a lot of different things out of the backfield

Martin’s senior reel is exciting, to say the least. All around back, and I wouldnt be surprised if he gets bumped in December

Shivers put together some incredible numbers. He is unlikely to be an every down back, but his speed is incredible. He catches the ball extremely well and will be an interesting player in our offense

Really hoping Lindsey sticks around for a bit because I think he could get Shivers involved in some fun ways. He runs well between the tackles too but no doubt hard to see a guy his size being a bellcow. If AU gets Schwartz could put some real speed on the field with Shivers & Schwartz

How Auburn commits, targets fared: Bo Nix, Asa Martin meet in epic duel (SECCountry)

Alabama high school state playoffs

The Alabama Class 7A state playoffs were highlighted by a rematch from the regular season: Hoover vs. Thompson. Auburn commit Shedrick Jackson was held in check without a catch for the first time all season, but 2019 commit George Pickens stepped up. Despite winning 31-12, Hoover only completed 6 passes all night. Pickens was responsible for all 6 of those. He accumulated 112 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown on a catch-and-run from a slant pattern. The victory moves Hoover into the state title game yet again next week, where it’ll face McGill-Toolen in a rematch of last season.

Pickens is gonna be a top 100 player before it's over. Hope we can hang onto him

McGill-Toolen made it to the championship thanks to a narrow overtime victory over Central-Phenix City and top Auburn wide receiver target Justyn Ross. The semifinal ended on a wild sequence that including a Ross touchdown in overtime to, in theory, send the game to a second overtime. Unfortunately for Ross and Central, the ensuing extra point was blocked to move McGill-Toolen onto the championship with a 27-26 win.

Going into the week, Austin versus Pinson Valley in the 6A quarterfinals was pitched as the game of the week. It lived up to expectations, as did Auburn running back commit Asa Martin and Auburn 2019 quarterback target Bo Nix.

In the end, Pinson Valley pulled out a 51-50 overtime victory that included several plot twists. Martin rushed for 261 yards on 29 carries, including touchdown runs of 4 yards, 59 yards and 67 yards. It helped Austin out to a big lead. But Nix led a monumental comeback in which he threw for 400 yards and tossed 7 touchdown passes. He also completed a 2-point conversion in overtime to clinch the victory in dramatic fashion.

I want Bo Nix & Asa Martin the same backfield in the very near future

Georgia high school state playoffs

Brookwood advanced to the Georgia Class 7A semifinals after a 35-28 victory highlighted by Auburn wide receiver commit Matthew Hill’s performance. Hill changed the entire landscape of the game on the first play of the second half. Brookwood entered halftime with a 7-point deficit, but Hill returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown to tie the game. From there, Hill took over. He ended the contest with 260 all-purpose yards, including 11 rushes for 104 yards and 4 catches for 46 yards. Brookwood will face linebacker prospect JJ Peterson and Colquitt County in the semifinals.

There aren’t many stats to record from the game, but Auburn commit Michael Harris and offensive line target Dylan Wonnum helped Tucker advance to the state semifinals to face Coffee County.
