KN always says follow the visits - if this axiom is true (which I believe it is) then Fields's visits should definitely be concerning.

Definitely not a positive for us. Best case is for UGA to flop offensively and for Stidham to have a strong start specifically against Clemson. Will be interesting to see what happens here in first month of season

I think beating Clemson is our only shot at landing Fields. He will probably commit somewhere within the first month of the season and Clemson is our truly big game during the first month.

Honestly, I wish he would wait until after the Auburn Georgia game. What if he commits to Georgia, then we beat their arse down in Athens and their offense looks woeful the rest of the season?

Interesting storyline to track is Bama seems to be making a push for Terrace Marshall. I believe they only plan on taking 3 true WRs (Slade Bolden is kind of a do it all guy) and they could land either Justin Watkins or Jaylen Waddle. So if they go Marshall/Waddle/X. Williams could help us land both Ross & S. Williams. Though Clemson might end up being tough to beat for Ross
Trying really hard not to get my hopes of a WR class of Ross/Williams/Hill/Jackson but it's proving difficult

Williams: 'not really hard to picture myself' at Auburn (247)
quote:
COTTONDALE, Ala., -- Could 4-star receiver Seth Williams of Bryant High, who grew up in the shadows of the Crimson Tide, envision himself playing for Auburn?
"Yeah, I could," Williams said. "It's not really hard to picture myself (there). Wherever I fit in, I'll play."
Auburn is one program that stands out to the 6-feet-3, 212-pound Williams, the No. 30 receiver in the 247Sports Composite. Alabama and Ole Miss are two others.
Williams plans to attend Saturday's Auburn-Georgia Southern game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
He estimated he has visted the Tigers "five, six times."
Auburn has had success with big-bodied receivers before and Williams tracked the careers of former Tigers Sammie Coates and Duke Williams. He said his game compares more to the latter.
"(Auburn) showed me some film on (Williams)," he said. "I really like him and how he played and how he compares to myself."
Williams said he thinks Auburn is primed to pass more under new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, but noted, "The run game always gets the receivers going. No matter where you go, they are going to run the ball."
According to Williams, Auburn has recruited him the hardest.
"They're just always there," Williams said. "When I come there, they make me feel like I'm at home. They're always texting me, letting me know what's up. They aren't going to lie to me or nothing like that."
With Alabama, what stands out?
"The process," Williams said. "How it's been going on for so long and how they've managed to win over and over again."
As for Ole Miss, according to Williams he has never before visited the Rebels but plans to do so in the fall. They will get an official visit.
With Ole Miss, Williams one thing sticks out.
"Their offense -- they throw the ball a lot," Williams said. "It's a receivers dream."
You can listen to our entire interview with Williams by hitting play above.

They're the leader, from what I've been told.

Going to be a dream at Auburn when Gus hired his bestie Hugh to he the 10th coach.

Auburn tight end recruiting: 4 names to watch as Tigers figure out how to use position (SECCountry)
quote:
The fate of the tight end position
One of the most befuddling positions for Auburn — both on the roster and on the recruiting trail — is tight end.
How will offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey utilize the position? Can Jalen Harris be the guy? Why is Sal Cannella viewed more as a wide receiver? Where was John Samuel Shenker in the two-deep depth chart? What kind of prospect will the Tigers look for going forward?
These are all questions that are likely to be answered early in the 2017 season. And several recruits will have their eyes set on those results. For now, there are four tight ends who are firmly on Auburn’s recruiting radar in the 2018 class — though expect the list to grow if the position is utilized effectively this season.

quote:
Tyneil Hopper, 3 stars, Roswell (Ga.): Hopper is probably the most-mentioned tight end in this SEC Country Auburn space. He was the first tight end Larry Porter contacted and hosted on a visit when the new Tigers tight end coach came on board this spring. Hopper’s connection to former Roswell quarterback and current Auburn freshman Malik Willis can’t be ignored. I spoke to Hopper at the Corky Kell Classic media day a few weeks ago in Atlanta, and Hopper said isn’t in a rush to make his decision. With that said, he also believes a college decision could come during the season. There are really three programs to look at here: Auburn, Louisville and North Carolina. The Tigers will likely monitor Hopper’s progress throughout the fall, but there are multiple relationships there. Hopper might be the front-runner to be the tight end to land in the class.
FWIW this guy is still my favorite of the bunch

quote:
Nic McTear, 3 stars, Heritage (Frisco, Texas): McTear told SEC Country in March that he was “eventually going to make my way over there,” referring to an Auburn visit. To my knowledge, that hasn’t yet happened, but I still expect it to. When McTear initially staged the Auburn visit plan, he was still committed to Oklahoma State. He backed off that pledge in July after a spring and summer of offers from Miami, Auburn, TCU and LSU. As of last week, McTear said he hears from Porter “a lot.” This one isn’t too much to look into until a visit takes place, but if/when it does, McTear becomes a prospect to seriously follow. He’s 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds … you don’t want to get in his way (check the tape). Assuming the visit happens, Auburn is more in play here than people may think. He lived in the Hoover, Ala., area until he was 12 years old and has a strong familiarity with the Tigers’ history.

quote:
Michael Parker, 3 stars, Westminster Christian (Huntsville, Ala.): Parker feels like a prospect destined for one of the two major in-state programs. He camped at both schools during the summer and promptly received offers from both. When he was offered by Auburn, he seemed likely to be a Tiger. Then when Alabama offered — the team he grew up loving — the Crimson Tide were the clear leader. There are still several things that need to shake themselves out in this situation. The Crimson Tide felt like they had a solid chance of landing Dominick Wood-Anderson, but he chose Texas. Now they’re deeply in the mix for Luke Ford, as is Auburn, but Georgia could also be a major threat there. If Ford committed to ‘Bama, or if Wood-Anderson flip-flopped, Auburn’s chances with Parker likely go way up. In addition, he talks to Porter once a week, he told SEC Country, and they text plenty more on top of that. Parker said he also talks with assistant Tim Horton regularly. He told SEC Country he expects to attend “a game or two” at Auburn this season.

quote:
Luke Ford, 4 stars, Carterville (Ill.): Ford is probably No. 1 on Auburn’s wish list, but for now, I believe he’s probably the least likely of the group to join the Tigers. His decision will be greatly influenced by quarterback and No. 1 overall recruit Justin Fields, and the Tigers appear to be trailing Georgia and Florida State there. Even if Ford didn’t follow Fields, Auburn would still be chasing in-state rival Alabama. As Ford told SEC Country earlier this week, “it’s a pretty good chance” he’ll visit the Plains again before making a decision. The last time he visited, he received a personal campus tour from head coach Gus Malzahn, which he said left as big of an impression on him as any other moment from any visit this summer.
I just don't see us getting this kid

Auburn-Georgia Southern visitors
This is a very early list of confirmed visitors for the Auburn season opener on Saturday. It will grow throughout the week and is always subject to change. By the end of the week, there should be a fairly thorough confirmation of people attending.
Keep in mind: Auburn’s early-season schedule isn’t the most favorable in terms of visits (home games against Georgia Southern and Mercer). On top of that, the Tigers will be competing with Alabama-Florida State in Atlanta on Saturday, which is expected to be the No. 1 landing destination for the top college football targets in the country.
So far, two key commits have confirmed they’ll be there — offensive tackle Kameron Stutts and running back Asa Martin.
Stutts has been a critical recruiter for the entirety of the cycle. He is a great presence to have on the Plains from a recruiting aspect. Martin received all the buzz last week as Auburn’s newest commitment. It was a big recruiting steal over Alabama, so his attendance alone will be a symbol of recruiting momentum.
As for non-commits, the two biggest targets who plan to attend — and arguably the two biggest recruiting targets remaining outside of Fields — are receiver Seth Williams and defensive tackle Coynis Miller. Those are both prospects who have Alabama on their radar, so it says a lot they’re even considering Auburn-Georgia Southern over Tide-‘Noles. Those are both guys who I project to end up in Auburn’s class, though it won’t be easy climbs over Alabama, Florida and others for each.
The big name who could travel to Auburn this weekend, but isn’t 100-percent confirmed: offensive guard Trey Hill.
Auburn’s top remaining O-line target will decide between Alabama-FSU and Auburn-Georgia Southern. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: As many times as Hill has visited Auburn — or, in this case, considers visiting over a majorly prime-time game — the Tigers have to be considered a major threat for one of the best guards in the nation. Georgia has been labeled as the public leader for some time, but that information has never come from Hill’s mouth.
If Trey Hill decides to come to AU/GSU over Bama/FSU then that's a huge win for AU & would show we really are a top team in this fight
