So everyone else CBing Fields to FSU and Wolk changed his to UGA. Pretty safe to say we are fading hard. Hope he holds off on committing and we can get off to a good start and maybe get back in it.

Well, if this means we likely get Patrick Nix then it isn't the worst scenario ever. Not the end of the world.

It will probably be good for us if he doesnt announce Monday because if he does it will probably be for UGA. Maybe he will announce the weekend after we stomp Georgia's arse in the ground.

It's a nice backup plan, but Fields is who we need.

Cam needs to have a heart to heart.

I think it depends on how offense is now. When we were running power reads with Cam then yeah we want fields but I think he may not be as good of a passer as maybe Nix. Which now if we are passing more it would be a wash

Didn't Wolk just release a class prediction like 2 days ago with Fields in it? Wonder what changed and why UGA when everyone else is trending FSU..

I agree on him waiting to commit. I think that gives us our best odds. Then you hope Stidham and Chip Lindsey live up to the hype. If that happens, would make our situation real enticing for Fields

My concern has always been momma. I know many think his dad will have a stronger say but following recruiting it always seems like momma usually gets what she wants. She wants UGA from what I can tell

Safety target Jamien Sherwood says Auburn ‘still at the top,’ sets decision timeline (SECCountry)
quote:

AUBURN, Ala. — For the third time in three months, Jamien Sherwood made the 8-hour trek from Jensen Beach, Fla., to Auburn.

He visited for Auburn’s cookout this time around after visits for A-Day and Big Cat Weekend. Sherwood & Co. were, yet again, blown away by the Tigers’ presentation and family feel.

With an early August decision date on the horizon, Sherwood offered some promising news for Auburn.

“It’s still the same, at the top of my list. I’m very excited about the program and coaches,” Sherwood said. “Auburn is really genuine with it. It’s not just an act. They actually are who they are. Even when they’re texting, and we talk on the phone, I can still feel the same amount of energy I do in person. That’s what I feel when I come here.”

Sherwood has only visited three programs on more than one occasion. He’s visited Auburn, Florida and Miami three times, compared to one visit to his other schools of interest. Sherwood said he wanted to make visits to Oregon and Michigan, but he doesn’t think those will happen because of cost restraints.

That’s more positive news for the Tigers.

It’s possible he will make a visit to Florida and Miami this week with his brother, so that will be something to track.

Regardless, it sounds like Sherwood — and his mother, especially — are ready to end up at Auburn.

“My first time visiting, two of my coaches came. That week was a little bit hectic. We were supposed to go to Tennessee for A-Day. We ended up not being able to go and coming here. Off that first visit, they loved it. Me and my mom came Big Cat, and my brother came. They both loved it,” Sherwood said. “Today, my mom was sold when they played a video about manhood or something like that. I know she loved that.”

Sherwood plans to announce with a commitment video at the beginning of August. My Crystal Ball pick has been to Auburn for roughly a week, and I’m even more confident in that pick after his overnight stay to the Tigers.

Auburn could be on the verge of an outstanding safety class with Kolbi Fuqua and Quindarious Monday already committed. Speaking of Monday, Sherwood spent some time during the cookout with his potential future teammate.

“I met him today. Smoke. He’s cool. Great kid. Funny. Full of excitement. Looks a little like me, just a little bit taller,” Sheerwood said. “We could play on the back end, locking stuff up.”

My bet is Sherwood gave a silent commit at event and is waiting to go public with video ala Shedrick Jackson. This is a tall safety class between Monday, Fuqua and hopefully Sherwood

Alabama and Auburn tied on top for in-state prospect (SECCountry)
quote:

Andres Fox, a 3-star defensive end/outside linebacker from Mobile (Ala.) Christian High School, grew up an Alabama fan, but for several months, it seemed like Auburn had the edge over the Crimson Tide mainly because of his comfortability at the school and the Tigers offering him before the Tide.

After a visit to both schools this weekend for their respective cookout events, Fox said Alabama and Auburn are now tied on top of his recruitment.

“Alabama is tied at the top because it is a great school and I’d have a great chance at the NFL,” Fox told SEC Country. “I’m still deciding if Alabama’s system is the best fit for me.”

Fox admitted that he had the feeling of making a commitment at both schools this weekend but chose not to in order to continue processing his thoughts on both schools.

What’s it going to take for one school to separate itself from the next?

“They have to just keep recruiting me really hard like they are doing,” Fox said.

The 6-foot-4, 232-pound prospect says LSU and Stanford, the other two teams in his top 4, remain in the mix but the two in-state schools hold the edge right now.

A commitment for the nation’s No. 18 weakside defensive end won’t come any time soon.

“I doubt it will happen before the season starts,” Fox said. “It will probably come sometime this fall. The two at the top have a really big chance, though.”

Alabama is recruiting Fox at JACK, which is the same position the Crimson Tide are targeting 5-star prospects KJ Henry and Micah Parsons and 4-star prospects Cameron Latu, Eyabi Anoma and current Tide commitment Jordan Davis.

Never felt comfortable about getting him. Inner circle has always wanted Bama despite him wanting to commit to AU a few times. If he's a take this fall for the Tide he goes there imo

Really hope we can land Tannor tomorrow. Need one of two form Tannor & Fox. Both could play buck or grow into the SDE position

Also KN has another article up reiterating that it was a conversation Monday had with Kevin Steele that got him to commit than to play at Clemson. Said something along the lines that Steele told him everything and everybody else would just tell him the good. I think it's extra sweet that not only did we steal him from Clemson but that Kevin Steele is the one who got it done. Those dudes hate Steele for obvious reasons

So do we have a legit good shot to land Pierce?

Very legit. Not sure I'd put it as good yet.

Not if the staff gets canned. If that happens then we miss on both.

He is as accurate if not more than Nix. Completed 69% of his passes on a Harrison team that does not have great talent around him. The Opening & Elite 11 Camps both favor the accurate & better passers & Justin destroyed the field with his passing ability.

That's often true in cases where the parents are together. That's not the case here. I think Momma is not as much of a factor as we thought at one time. Justin lives with his dad & Stepmom. not his bio mom (which is the one big on UGA). Whoever wins Justin has to win the dad as he is the guardian that will be likely signing the NLI with Justin.
