This certainly will change things.
As of late yesterday, Steve Wiltfong of 247 was told by his sources AU was trending up.
But this would appear to indiciate Ohio State will miss on 5-star Zamir White (likely UGA bound) -- and lock in on Teague.
This recruitment has been all over the board.
Now it looks like AU, UGA or Ohio State -- with Ohio State possibly moving into the lead dog position. In fact, out Buckeye guys believe that now will be the pick. Right now, Urb and Co. are getting just about everyone they want.
We'll keep following this.
More proof that things chance FAST in recruiting.

Damn CB picks flying in for Teague now & Ohio State. Wiltfong and KN just did so

So how many of these kids are hedging their bets until seeing 1) what type O is ran this fall and 2) if GM is on-or-off the hot seat? I'm sure they're getting such from other schools. And the top5 (programs/classes) we're going head to head with, are likely pressing for more than an I'm interested
in you too, this far along in the game.

No doubt a strong season on the field will give us a boost especially if it involves an improved passing offense. Also landing Fields would be a huge rallying point. Kearis Jackson has mentioned wanting to play with him and you have to think it would help further with Ross

Most likely to join the class (247)
quote:
Recruiting is fluid, to say he least.
One day you lead with a prospect. The next, someone else is trending.
You can go from the penthouse to the outhouse with a recruit -- and vice versa -- in a flash.
There are public visits. And those kept under wraps.
Every day, there are domino effects. One recruit can commit to another school and give your team a boost with someone else. Or a school can miss on one prospect only to quickly swoop in on another.
These are just some of the reasons it can be so difficult to predict a player's final landing spot.
That said, today we take a look at the 12 prospects we believe -- at this time -- are most likely to pick Auburn.

No. 12: Justin Fields, QB
Auburn is one of four top contenders for the 5-star quarterback, along with Florida, Florida State and Georgia. The Tigers -- and others -- think Auburn has as good a chance as anyone to land him.

No. 11: Asa Martin, RB
Martin has visited Auburn twice in the past month and some think the Tigers exited Big Cat Weekend in a good spot. However, Alabama is right there (he visited the Tide this week) as is Florida. If another running back target, Master Teague, ends up committing elsewhere, Martin becomes even more important to the class. He has set a commitment date of Aug. 24.
Not gonna lie. Will be pretty frustrated if we miss on Joiner, Martin and Teague. I don't mind Pierce who would probably become our top target then but that would suck to go 0-3 at RB spot

No. 10: Tae Provens, ATH
The 3-star recruit appeared ready to commit last weekend during Big Cat at Auburn, but it didn't happen. That's possibly because Auburn likes him at athlete (he seems himself as a runninng back) and Provens needed time to digest that. He'll announce a commitment Aug. 11. Louisville and Tennessee are two others to watch.
Not much info yet on whether or not he's cool with the ATH label yet or not. I am guessing not as of now but we will see

No. 9: Quindarious Monday, S
A week ago, Auburn was the clear-cut team to beat but then Clemson offered. That's pretty much his favorite school as a fan so this got interesting real fast. That said, Auburn still is very much in this and he plans to vist again this summer.
Remember when we were going to get Armour-Davis, Jordan Miner & Monday?

No. 8: Zakoby McClain, LB
Auburn has long been his leader, but LSU has been another program to watch and Thursday McClain told Rivals.com it's now a tie at the top. Auburn is involved in several battles at linebacker but if linebackers coach Travis Williams locks in on McClain we could see him land in the class.
Need to get him back on campus ASAP

No. 7: Andres Fox, DE
Auburn and LSU look like the teams to beat right now and while Fox says LSU has recruited him harder of late he has visited Auburn far more than anyone else. Look for Fox to announce a commitment decision sometime this summer. He has been close to picking Auburn before.

No. 6: Joseph Foucha, S
Auburn leads but this fight is far from over. Foucha is a priority recruit for the Tigers and they've certainly let him know. He loved both visits to Auburn this year and plans to return this summer. Alabama is potentially one team to watch.
Really like this kid. Need to get him & Monday on board

No. 5: Coynis Miller, DT
At the moment, Auburn appears to be in a good spot. Helping the cause: Miller's mother is extremely high on the Tigers. Miller will announce in August and Alabama remains a major threat. Never count out the Tide.
Hmmm wonder if we won momma over?

No. 4: Juanyeh Thomas, CB
Auburn is recruiting the 3-star cornerback target harder than anyone else and right now it looks like that will pay off. He'll announce his college choice in August.

No. 3: Richard Jibunor, Buck LB
The 4-star recruit also likes Alabama and Tennessee but is closest with the staff at Auburn -- and has one good friend on the team (Prince Tega Wanogho). With Georgia apparently going in a different direction, that's one less team to worry about. He plans to announce in August.

No. 2: Mathew Hill, WR
The 4-star receiver is closing in on a commitment and most think Auburn is the team to beat. He plans to visit Alabama and Florida soon. South Carolina is another program to watch.

No. 1: Shedrick Jackson, WR
The 3-star receiver could announce a commitment any day and we fully expect Auburn to be his choice.
Just go ahead and commit kid. All the instate 3*s are our this year

Where will Justin Fields land? 247Sports' experts break it down (247)
quote:
The recruiting world shook earlier this week when the nation’s No. 2 prospect, Justin Fields, decommitted from Penn State. A 6-foot-3, 221-pound dual-threat signal caller with tools on top of tools, Fields instantly became the most sought after prospect in the country with his announcement.
A Georgia native, Fields holds offers from just about every power in the Southeast, and a similar number of teams seem to have a shot at him at this point.
Four different schools currently hold a Crystal Ball prediction for Fields (Florida, Penn State, Auburn and Georgia) with Florida emerging as the new favorite.
Fields is expected to take his time during the second stage of his recruitment, which leaves a lot of questions to be answered about his potential destinations. With that in mind, 247Sports consulted three of its recruiting experts to expound on their Crystal Ball picks for Fields.
One has the Gators. One has the Tigers. One has the Bulldogs.
Where will Fields land? Our experts explain their current projections.

FLORIDA
“I think it’s going to be a battle for Fields, and it’s not a foregone conclusion that he goes to Florida. But, at this point, I think based off the buzz I’m hearing that they’re in the best position to land the nation’s No. 2 recruit. Florida has turned away other four-star quarterbacks that I think they would’ve landed even when (Fields) was committed to Penn State to stay in the Fields sweepstakes. Combine that with the buzz I'm hearing, and Florida has to feel good about where they stand with Fields or they wouldn’t have turned the other guys away, in my opinion. Fields is obviously going to go through the process again, just because you lead now doesn’t mean you’ll land them later. At this point in time, I think my Crystal Ball pick best reflects where things stand with Florida in the lead and schools like Auburn, Georgia, Florida State and others in play.” – Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports Director of Recruiting

AUBURN
He loves the system. He loves offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, and he has always loved Auburn going back to his childhood when Cam Newton was his favorite player. Now, he plays for Newton’s 7-on-7 team and the two are fairly close. The Newton connection helps, no doubt. At Auburn, he'd have a chance to compete for a starting job early in his career like he would at Florida, another top contender. I keep hearing the Tigers are in a good spot from multiple people, and I believe it. They have as good a shot as anyone at this point, with a decision likely to come later this summer.” – Keith Niebuhr, AuburnUndercover
Right now the consensus among insiders seems to be that AU is #2. UF people think UF, UGA people think them while FSU people seem uncertain. All say AU is right there tho which is a really good sign for us
